| | expelled | ] | Has anybody seen that movie Expelled yet? I really want to see it for curiosity's sake but I'd like to know if anybody else has seen it on account of I seem to have approximately 31 more important things to do than of seeing that movie. |

Lots of people have. All reviews so far that aren't from fundies say it's basically one big argumentum ad nazium.
I'm not going to see it simply because I don't want to support it in any way.
Other people have linked to sites which mention the drama surrounding PZ Myers being denied access to a showing. Here's an entry from his own blog about the issue: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2008/03/another_expelled_roundup.phpFrom what I've heard the movie more or less blames the Holocaust on people who believe in evolution. I wish I were joking.

Yeah I linked to that two posts ago!
I have about 5,000 better things to do that go see that piece of shit! Ben Stein can kiss my ass. You know what else isn't allowed to be taught in schools? The religion where they think Ben Stein is actually a life-sized human douche bag! Good for him I guess!
I am a member of this religion, and I am angry that this undeniable truth cannot be taught in our public schools.
I strongly believe they should give equal time to all religious viewpoints in schools. I don't know why they don't. They could easily make room for it by pushing out less important subjects like math, literature, and history.
Did you lose on win Ben Stein's money or something?
Whipple was somewhat surprised that neither intelligent design nor evolution were defined in the film. According to Whipple, the film charges that intellectual freedom of intelligent design supporters is being restricted, but he was not able to find much substance in these claims when he investigated further. After the first half hour, Whipple reports that the film launches into a condemnation of evolution, blaming it for "Communism, the Berlin Wall, Fascism, the Holocaust, atheism and Planned Parenthood."
Because, you know, women's health is bad, as are protecting people from sexually transmitted diseases, providing tests, and curbing the population. I agree with aforementioned comments: I can't sign on to something I KNOW will make me mad (though I should). I admire that you'll read and research things you oppose. Makes you look smarter and more patient than I am. ...Going to fume, now.
Planned Parenthood is great in theory but their condoms are actually completely useless. Listen to their advice, but buy somebody else's condoms.
I tried watching the trailer, but the moment he insinuated that all Darwinists were atheists he lost me. Then, less than 3 minutes into the trailer, he triggered Godwin's law.
i haven't even heard of it, but upon imdbing it, it looks like an excellent film!
Has anyone found a torrent of it yet? I had a quick look but couldn't find anything.
Because you know, I wouldn't want to give these losers money, but righteous anger can sometimes be fun.

It starts off innocent enough, the scene is set a few hundred years ago, some time in the stone age. A tuesday. Two cavemen walk into a bar. They complain that the price of tyrannosaurus burgers keeps going up, probably because of those evil idol worshippers. Cut scene to a view of lego blocks trying to mate with incompatible duplo blocks. The screen reads "evolutionists view of the beginning of life". The shot holds for 30 seconds while the failed lego/duplo structure does a CGI morph into a fish, then a monkey with cloven hooves, then Al Gore, then it fades away into nothing. A screen wipe in the form of a spinning crucifix brings us back to 'reality' where dinosaurs are brought to extinction because of the savory dino burger flavor.
Ok, maybe I haven't seen it. Or maybe this is pretty much how the movie goes. Hey, it's fiction. Do you care what happened in "Blair Witch Project 2"?

I don't want to ruin it for you, but let me just say "Jesus in the library with the lead pipe". The ending will blow you away. ;-) | |
