You could always come to Dragon*Con in Atlanta! It's hot and moist and there are lots of nerds, and..
Uh..

I actually really wanna go to that.
I second this. It's my first year going, but I hear it's quite a blast.
Why is it that any time someone announces they are going to a con or not going to a con, the first comment is someone suggesting they go to Dragon*Con? JUST CURIOUS!
Also: I have been going to San Diego Thingy every second year since 2002, which has worked well for me. (This is an "on" year)

I'm just so tired of working on and in the Tee Shirt Stand all day long and as a result being too exhausted to enjoy the evening. I want to be a famous boy like you and just make nice drawings for people.
Yeah, you don't want to go and just be Sales Guy.
I'm looking forward to being Famous Guy for a day, I admit it.

I wasn't gonna go in 2006 until they had me come in and do that Snakes on a Plane thing which ended up just being awkward so my jealously muttering "famewhore" would've been hypocritical.
maybe you can just go and wear a mustache, so nobody expects you to work. Then you can just hang out and party with us at Jamie's.
Have you thought about the Small Press Expo?

Been to it several times. Not a fan of the hotel. Maryland is like, too far to drive to but not far enough to justify flying.
Have you been since they moved the show up to Rockville? Excuse me, "North Bethesda?"
I haven't stayed at either hotel; my parents live in Bethesda, so I just stay with them. Likewise travel expense; they buy my plane ticket when I go home since they know I'd probably never visit otherwise.
Umm... I guess what I'm saying is that you should get parents who live in Bethesda, because it makes attending SPX much easier? Yeah I guess I don't know what I'm saying. I really like SPX, but I guess I'm sort of biased since it's in my hometown and always provides an excuse to see old friends and walk down memory lane and all that.
People attending APE would love you. (Hasn't FJ been telling you people to go for like a dozen years?)

If we can crash with somebody then I'll set it right up.
Awesome! I am a CT native and you just solidified my intentions to go to Connecticon.
They should have a convention for those of us who don't go to Comic-Con. It is held in your own house and the only attendee is you. It costs $200 and you don't get in unless you have a badge.
We should have a "not going to SDCC party"!

Come on up! You can help us work and listen to podcasts by crazy people.
Jeff how can you not go to Comic-con, do you know what happened when I stopped attending? Lou Ferrigno came to my house and knocked me out. Two years in a row.
Well done for resisting the expensive, not-worth-it madness!

Awesome! My first vaguely nerdy con event and Jeffrey Effin Rowland isn't even going. Weak
San Diego is for suckers. Jeffrey and I will be giving away free kisses and punches, but you don't get to pick which or from whom. |
