Remember those turdfaced dickasses who said they caught a bigfoot and showed pictures of it and it was obvious that it was just a bigfoot suit with some guts on it? And the mainstream media was like AW HELL YEAH and gave them a big press conference? And then they finally admitted it was a big stupid hoax with their stupid hick faces? And apparently they owed a whole bunch of money to some crazy idiot who "bought it off them" and went on the lam?

And later they blamed everybody else for believing it and that they were just having fun and said they weren't actually guilty of any crime?

I'll let my BFF Rebecca Watson, She-Rogue of the Skeptics Guide to the Universe and Queen of the Skepchicks explain what is hopefully the last part of this dumbass story in comics form!

That's right, bidding at is at this moment $200,300 for a GORILLA SUIT THAT SOME REDNECKS POURED ANIMAL GUTS IN AND FROZE. And POSSUM DNA.

Actually you know what? Maybe these guys do deserve to make money off this thing. If the MSM hadn't gotten such a huge boner for the story and stuck with what they're supposed to be doing poorly anyway, it would have never got that big. I don't know.

In a related note, I have become fond of The Paracast. It's a paranormal podcast kind of except the hosts actually talk shit about their guests after the interview. One of the hosts actually yelled at someone for saying Billy Meier was the "real deal."

speaking of skeptics, while browsing through the boston center for adult education I came across these course listings. Note- they are the ONLY listings under science classes:

Ghost Science in Action: Investigating the Gamble Mansion
Ghost Science: Behind the Scenes of a Paranormal Investigation

Go science!

My guess is that the bids are all from them, and the whole thing is a scheme to get more attention. If you look at the bid history, all the bidders have similar names with a letter, two asterisks, and another letter. Some of them have only bid on the one item. If they buy it from themselves, they get publicity, and it only costs them a couple bucks in listing fees.

You know that eBay only shows the first and last character of bidder's names, and replaces everything in between with "**", right?

Ah, no I didn't. I haven't been active on eBay in a while, and that must be a change (it didn't used to be like that).

I still think it's likely that they're just bidding on it themselves to get attention. Who else would be that ________ (fill in appropriate adjective)? It's not like there are many people with a spare $200K in this economy.

It's not really the hoaxers that are selling the costume. It's a fellow named Joshua P. Warren. He runs "Hoax research center." Here is the link to Cryptomundo article http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/250000-hoax/ for those interested. As far as the hoaxers go, they have been causing more trouble: http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/bfhoax-jerks/ . Yeah the price on that costume would be considered crazy in Crazy Town.
