Oh [Sep. 30th, 2009|12:34 pm]
Jeffrey Rowland
So this is my Livejournal. I had over five years of stories and belligerent caterwauling on here, under a paid account, but then some jagoffs hacked it and deleted everything. Now Livejournal refuses to restore any of it, I guess because they don't backup their servers? Either that or they're just assholes. I prefer to assume incompetence over maliciousness.

I know there's caches out there on the wayback machines and all that but that's beside the point.

You guys this is what happened to me.

a) that sucks they hijacked your account
b) that sucks that LJ isn't doing more to help restore
c) I am surprised that so many people posting are righteous with indignation over a backup safeguard that was never promised by LJ. No, not even for paid accounts. You might want to take some time and ensure that the other data sources you rely on are backed up so you don't suffer a similar misfortune. It beats canceling your twitter account in a fit of entitlement scented rage when one of the many exploits owns you.
